Dystany Spurlock Closes Strong, Finishes 12th in Rockingham ARCA Menards East 125

Spurlock continues making strides ahead of her ARCA national series debut.

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. — Dystany Spurlock turned in a solid performance in Saturday’s Rockingham ARCA Menards East 125 at Rockingham Speedway, finishing 12th in the No. 66 Foxxtecca Chevrolet for MBM Motorsports and Garage 66.Starting 13th, Spurlock quickly picked up a spot and established a comfortable rhythm. However, during the opening green-flag run, her window net unexpectedly came down, forcing an unscheduled pit stop and leaving her several laps behind the leaders.

Despite the setback, Spurlock soon regrouped and settled back into a steady groove, stacking clean laps and methodically climbing to 16th by the time the first caution waved near the race’s one-third mark. Keeping pace, she advanced another spot to reach 15th at the midway break.

As the action resumed, Spurlock steered clear of multiple cautions before making her move. She picked off competitors to claim 14th, then 13th, and made one final pass in the closing laps to secure a 12th-place finish, an impressive result for just her second ARCA Menards Series East start of the 2026 season.

“Not the day we were hoping for,” Spurlock said, “but I’m grateful for the experience and everything we learned. We’ll take that into the next race and keep building.”

The Rockingham race was another step forward for Spurlock in series competition, as she and the No. 66 team continued to progress and refine their performance.

Next up is the Tide 150 at Kansas Speedway on April 18, where Spurlock will make her ARCA Menards Series debut. When the green flag drops, she’ll become the first Black woman to compete on the NASCAR-affiliated series’ national stage—a historic milestone in her career and for the sport.

Spurlock ultimately has her sights set on competing at NASCAR’s highest levels, and the upcoming start represents an important move in that direction.Breaking barriers is nothing new for Spurlock. Before transitioning to stock cars, she made her mark in motorcycle drag racing, becoming the first woman to win the Real Street class in the XDA Motorcycle Drag Racing Series and setting a world record in the process. In 2025, she also became only the second Black woman to compete in the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle category; she plans to run a limited schedule this season.

Spurlock’s journey is currently being documented in Driven by Dystany: The Road to NASCAR, a docuseries produced by Foxxtecca. The series has helped draw national attention to her story, building fans and supporters as she continues to break new ground in motorsports.
